Good morning all!

Today I would like to share a layout I created for the May Once Upon A Sketch... challenge combined with Scrapping Outback May 12 Chipboard  Monochromatic colour challenge (details here), you have to follow the sketch below (I interpreted it a bit differently) and the layout has to be about Motherhood, it has to include journalling! All the details are on their blog here. I am a big fan of this challenge blog, the DT is just amazing and this is the first time that I give it a try! Here is my layout and close-ups:

The photo is very dear to me as it was taken by my adorable son on Mother's Day, not bad hey? I did crop it etc. but still! I feel so proud when I look at my 2 beautiful children, they are the most important things in my life! Most journalling is at the back of the layout.
I used a few different papers (Prima, cardboard, cardstock), and as usual I try to use a lot of textures (wire, cardboard, silky and tulle flowers, chipboard, distress stickles, rhinestones, pearls, stitching, stamping)
The chipboard flowers are Rachelle Minett Designs (available here) and I had a bit of fun with them, I gave them 2 coats of Picket Fence Distress Stain, then I added Rock Candy and Antique Linen Distress Stickles for a bit of roughness! And when all was dry I wrapped some wire around the stems!!!
That's it for me today, enjoy your Wednesday and thank you for coming by!

Gone vintage...

Morning all!

Hope you are all enjoying Mother's Day! Just a quick share for you today, a layout just for the fun of it!
I had some leftover "These Days" papers from a previous project and I thought to use them! It is a beautiful collection, I also added some other Kaisercraft paper collections with it and some of their beautiful wooden embellishments:

And some closies:

This beautiful flower border was made using the new Die-Namics dies available from Fatcats.
As for the technique I used on the wooden leaves, well it took me a while but after painting magic mica + one coat of picket fence distress stain and then sanding the lot I came up with this beautiful vintage orange colour! I also added some punched butterflies around the page and added a gorgeous dollop of distress stickles on their bodies!
Well that's it for me today, will be back soon with Show Us Your Stuff Challenge in a couple of days til then...

This sketch is from awesome DT girl Tina Connolly, I actually tilted it on its side, here is my take on the challenge:

It is a great challenge! Come along and earn yourself some SO money, everyone's a winner, you win $2 per completed challenge, and an extra $2 if you complete all 5! $12 in total to spend the next month! How good is that?
Go to SO blog and follow the links to all challenges!
Now here is a list of products used out of the SO shop:
- Echo Park paper
- Pink Paislee Mask
- Patina Glimmermist
- Rachelle Minnett's Design Chipboard Title "Just Grow Big"
- Scrap FX "Hot Air Balloon"

Now a little Toot: I made the top 20 for the June Convention Black and White with One competition! I am so excited! Also for anyone who is going to the convention, come and say hello, I will be at the Fatcats Card Corner Booth, sharing a few tips on how to use the Crafter's Workshop Templates!
